AFTER watching the finals of Celebrity Masterchef recently I think I’m showing signs of over-indulgence.
When preparing our sausage, egg and chips last Monday evening, I felt it had to be ready at exactly 8pm with someone shouting 20 minutes to go, ten minutes to go, in the background.
When serving, I had the sausages geometrically perfect and the chips stacked with military precision. I pondered over the seasoning and the ketchup was presented with the utmost care. The fried egg was full of tension, but I pulled through in the required time.
After Mrs Schofield had finished I waited for comments about the presentation, quality of food and my cooking potential.
But just a thank-you – and back to EastEnders. It should all wear off in a few weeks.
Eric Schofield, Crook, Co Durham.
