THE Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is the main UK charity providing help and support to people with serious sight loss. We rely on voluntary contributions to keep our services running and many blind and partially-sighted people in this area rely on us.

Throughout the North East and North Yorkshire we receive fantastic support from the public. Much of our funding comes from our famous “Sooty”

charity boxes which many of your readers may have seen in shops, restaurants or pubs.

I am seeking volunteers to help collect, count and bank the money that is generated through these boxes and to help find new homes for them. If any readers can spare a couple of days a month to take on this rewarding task, please contact me.

If these tasks are not for them then perhaps they have two hours a year they could give us? I am looking to create a list of people who would help collect at a local supermarket.

Full training and support will be given and all out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed. For further details please contact me on 0113-275-7436.
