HOW much longer are the good people of Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, going to line their streets to watch the flag-draped coffins of soldiers killed in Afghanistan slowly pass?

Nothing wrong in respecting our dead young men sacrificed on the altar of the massive warmongering egos of George Bush and Tony Blair, but it would be nice to think that when no coffins are due the people would line their streets and protest at this awful war.

The people of East Germany got rid of the Communists by turning out in their thousands day after day and ultimately the Berlin Wall came down.

I have come to the conclusion that we are a peasant race. We allow the politicians to totally disregard the way we wish the country to be run. Whichever party wins the impending General Election we are in for more of the same.

Our foreign policy is dictated by Washington and our economics by Brussels. What a mess.
