THE films of Hollywood star Kathryn Grayson, who has died at the age of 88, are among those I remember as a boy.
She appeared mainly in musicals such as The Toast of New Orleans, in which she starred with Mario Lanza, and The Kissing Bandit with Frank Sinatra.
This latter film, from 1948, was not a success and during the making of it Sinatra is reported to have said to Grayson: “What are we going to do for a comeback?”
I recall that in the Sixties she made a guest appearance on BBC TV’s Juke Box Jury.
