SO, Councillor Carol Woods thinks that Durham County Council should bequeath Durham City’s historic treasures to the city for ever (HAS, Feb 20).
It seems she has forgotten about the £900,000 taken by her and the Liberal Democrats to refurbish Durham Town Hall when, and by her own definition, that money should rightly have belonged to the residents of villages such as Sherburn Hill and West Rainton, money which should have been spent on their community centres.
