I WATCHED the TV programme about Barack Obama’s first year as President of the US in despair.
In despair because I saw the Republicans, to their shame, uttering barely disguised racist comments about Mr Obama and they are hellbound on destroying the Democrats’ healthcare programme.
Some 40 million Americans have no healthcare and must rely on charity – and you can be sure most of them are black. The Republicans have hearts of stone and by their barbaric behaviour they are condemning millions of their own citizens to ill-health and even death.
The Republicans are a disgrace to humanity because I believe basic healthcare is a human right.
Mr Obama is in for a tough time, but as well as being a wonderful orator his heart is in the right place and I hope he succeeds despite the Republicans acting like fascists – even they had healthcare.
