AS we wave goodbye to another spectacular summer, and nights spent in my garden enjoying the torrential rain, I turn for solace to the television for my evening’s entertainment.
However, just a cursory glance at the TV listings fills me with dread. Strictly Come Dancing, X Factor, Masterchef, and hours of football matches no one is remotely interested in. Who is really interested in Manchester United versus Wolfsburg?
What happened to all the actors? Our television productions were the envy of the civilised world, and now it’s all reality TV and football.
Might get my coat on and sit out in the garden instead.
