RE your recent correspondence about headlights (HAS, July 6, 9 and 10). How is it inconsiderate using dipped headlights during daylight? How does it cause problems?
The fact is that any vehicle using dipped headlights, at any time, is much more visible than one without. But don’t take my word, ask a policeman, a bus driver, or a motorcyclist. The more visible you are, the less likely you are to have a coming-together.
The sooner manufacturers provide vehicles that automatically provide dipped headlights when in motion the better. There is a great reluctance for British drivers to use any lights at all.
