I TOTALLY agree with Peter Hill (HAS, July 7) regarding the death of the two police dogs left in a car parked at Nottinghamshire Police headquarters during the recent heatwave.
However, I would like to go a step further and see the officer responsible dismissed.
These dogs worked for the police force and in my opinion should therefore demand the same respect and care.
I’m sure that if this officer had been placed on the front line of conflict the dogs would have defended him until their last breath.
I think that the RSPCA has enough on its plate without having to undertake an investigation involving someone who should have known better.
These dogs trusted their handler and he let them down; also, they would have died a horrendous death.
There is no justice if the police force brush this under the carpet.
