MY apologies to Colin T Mortimer (HAS, June 23) for my accusation of incorrect quote-attribution (HAS, June 18).
This was a case of sloppy wording of my letter in trying to keep it as succinct as possible.
As for the charge of “pseudo-intellectual literary snobbery”... fair enough.
