FOR his expert knowledge of Gaza and the Middle East, I propose Pete Winstanley as Foreign Secretary in a Hear All Sides government, as suggested by Philip Gatenby (HAS, Jan 1). I feel that there would be many meaningful discussions and talks about talks.
George Appleby, another fine contributor, has a liking for things traditional and therefore would make an excellent Secretary of State for the Environment.
That great humanitarian Eric Gendle would be my Health Secretary and, as someone to crack the whip, Joe Wellthorpe would preside at Employment.
The HAS Cabinet, it would seem, is taking shape.
