GEOFFREY Bulmer said that if a referendum was to be held he would vote for a republic in Great Britain rather than a continuation of the monarchy (HAS, Dec 8).
He also said that all government offices should be fronted by an elected individual, or in the case of officials for them to be appointed on merit.
In my humble opinion, I would still like Her Majesty to be Head of State, and for a UK General Election to be called immediately so that we can have an elected Prime Minister at long last.
