POLLS consistently show 68 per cent of English people want an English Parliament and 59 per cent of English people want Scotland to leave the UK.

The will of the English people for self-rule within the United Kingdom is flagrantly ignored because, we are told, an English Parliament within a federal UK would break up the Union.

Well, maybe English people would prefer independence to being thirdclass citizens within a United Kingdom.

Let's ask them. If you believe the English should have a say on independence and not just the Scots, then please sign the 10 Downing St e-petition and inform as many friends as possible by text, email and good old-fashioned conversation.

Go to the website http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Englandfreedom/ before the closing date of June 12.

You do not have to agree with independence, just that it's about time the English had a say instead of being taken for granted.
