THERE are many delightful British recipes, and one of my favourites is good, old-fashioned shepherd's pie.
Instead of cooking this meal with gravy, prepare it with the main ingredients and smother it with ketchup. The potatoes, mince and cheese are delicious with a dollop of red sauce.
I had a German friend staying with me recently and she applauded my shepherd's pie.
My good friends from Germany have never really understood my crackpot humour, but they do seem to enjoy my home-cooked meals.
The next time I am in Wiesbaden, I have promised to make my buddies a charming British dinner. Bangers and mash for five, please.
