NEW Labour has shown again it is not to be trusted. Gurkhas are being denied citizenship of the country they have faithfully served.
Gurkhas who served after 1997 are allowed citizenship. Those up to 1997 are not. What twisted mind comes up with citizenship rules like that?
I started my Army service proper with 48 Gurkha BDE in Hong Kong in 1959 and found the Gurkha soldier to be pleasant, very smart and always willing - an example to others.
New Labour doesn't recognise loyalty to Queen and country as a quality for citizenship. Only if you have lots of money to bring into the country so you can buy citizenship are you welcomed with open arms. What a bottom of the barrel lot New Labour are.
If our MPs had served our country in the Armed Forces they would understand the resentment being felt by all ex-servicemen at this blatant discrimination against some of the most loyal and trustworthy soldiers this country has seen.
