HAVING been born and bred in Scarborough I write in relation to the letter headed "Hope in the air"
(HAS, Jan 12).
The accompanying picture, described as Scarborough's Marine Drive, is not the Marine Drive.
It is a picture of what is known as Aquarium Top looking under Valley Bridge with the harbour and lighthouse in the distance. On the left is the Rotunda Museum and beyond that the Grand Hotel.
The road from the Aquarium Top to the harbour is Foreshore Road and the Marine Drive runs from the harbour around the Headland and the castle to the North Side.
