IN my opinion the appointment of Fabio Capello as England manager by the FA was a wrong one. I just cannot see an Italian manager bringing the best out of our team, which to me were not good enough to qualify for Euro 2008, never mind winning the World Cup.

Wouldn't now be the right time to bring in an English manager, one with passion for our team and our country? The likes of Stuart Pearce, and possibly Alan Shearer as his right-hand man, could install a bit of passion and fight into our game and if possible, change our national anthem before our games to Land of Hope and Glory or Rule Britannia.

When you look at the players during God Save the Queen some are looking down on the ground or just opening their mouths with nothing coming out. I don't think they know the words and it does not give them the passion at the start that the other two could do.
