THE festive period can be a very expensive time. With this in mind, TV Licensing is reminding people aged 75 and over in the North-East and North Yorkshire to make sure they are claiming their free TV licence.
All you need to do is contact TV Licensing with your name, address, date of birth and National Insurance number. Even if you can't find your National Insurance number, you can still qualify for a free licence, but you will need to call us on 0845-603-6999 so we can help you claim your licence.
The licence covers your main home and any other household members who live at that address.
You need only apply once and TV Licensing will automatically renew your free licence every three years.
If you're 74 and need to renew your licence, you can apply for a short-term licence that will cover you until your 75th birthday, when you will be eligible to apply for a free licence.
