MRS V BELL’S decision to share her story of her life as a single mother of two in the 1970s was, I think, very brave (HAS, Nov 13).
To remind certain people these days of their “responsibility” for the children they have made threatens to bring down on her head a torrent of self-righteous indignation.
Yet, the humiliating experiences and sacrifices she made when bringing up her own children must surely give her the right to do so.
