GOING up the hill out of Crook one day recently, I passed a bloke with something on a lead. I supposed it was a dog but it looked more like something out of Jurassic Park.
In a moment I sussed what it was: a wolf-dog hybrid – and it was massive. I thought to myself: were that thing to turn nasty it could kill somebody as soon as look at them – and there’s no way he could restrain it (it was more than twice his size).
People should not be allowed to keep such things as pets.
Not that I have anything against wolves – as long as they stay where they belong, which doesn’t include Crook and district.
Anyway, how could you possibly give a thing that size the exercise it needs, which is all the more reason why it could turn dangerously unstable.
Tony Kelly, Crook.
