MORE than a million of UK’s poorest children will now receive a free meal voucher worth £15 a week to use over the summer months after a massive Tory U-turn.

A truly marvellous result, but why was the voucher scheme for low-income families ever abolished in the first place?

Many Cabinet members must have made that decision to deprive over a million vulnerable children from accessing free summer food vouchers.

Is this what the Tories think is uniting and levelling up the country?

The Tories do not learn by their mistakes. Margaret Thatcher the milk snatcher springs to mind.

Billions of pounds has been found over the past few months to prop up wages of some of UK’s richest employers, so the £120m required to fund the free summer meal scheme is really a drop in the ocean.
