ISN’T it great that a Redcar & Cleveland company is in the vanguard of the offensive against the coronavirus; and what’s more has taken on six students from northern universities to help (Echo, June 1)?
Absolute Antibody Ltd, based on the Wilton site, is poised to give the world an antibody treatment for Covid-19. Of course, the rudimentary antibodies are provided by those who have already had the virus.
The company’s work could save millions of lives during the many months before a vaccine becomes available.
Everybody in our borough, and the wider Tees Valley, should be proud of the ground-breaking and life-saving work of this local company.
Steve Kay, Cabinet Member: Health Housing and Welfare, Redcar & Cleveland Council
