STRANGE as it may seem, the corona pandemic has highlighted the vast amount of money circulating in the various major sports, chiefly within their hierarchy, elite clubs agents and perhaps certain individuals.
TV money and sponsorship have provided sport extensive revenue over the years which has been invaluable but has now proved to be financially unpredictable resulting in undue panic.
The way that money has previously been quite disproportionately distributed throughout all sports from the top to the grassroots level has not been scrutinised effectively resulting in why so many clubs are facing hardship and may have to fold.
Perhaps, post corona, a new sustainable financial structure can be established for the future benefit of everyone who cares for their sport.
