Silly me, I always thought the United States, Soviet Union and many other nations also combated fascism.
I suspect that Mr Armstrong would refer to the Battle of Britain as being our “finest hour”.
Perhaps I should remind him that the most active Fighter Command sector was commanded by a New Zealander and perhaps the most famous fighter pilot and squadron leader, one Sailor Malan, was South African.
It may also surprise Mr Armstrong to know that the most successful fighter squadron was Polish.
As to his anti-socialist comments, has he forgotten, or never knew, that it was a Labour government that founded the NHS which, despite years of underfunding, is, with its dedicated staff, fighting today’s war.
