IN my opinion, NHS staff, and others directly helping victims of covid-19, should be materially rewarded. But, I’d go one step further.
How about awarding them all a medal like those for military campaigns?
There’s already a Nightingale Medal, so I’d suggest the 2020 Medal for dutiful dedication and service.
Such an award would recognise the recipients’ selfless work: a lasting reminder for both them and their families of how, in the service of mankind, they rose magnificently to the challenge posed by an invisible and deadly enemy.
