SO the Conservative Party has, at the first hurdle, shown its true colours.

It had splashed cash in every direction except towards the self-employed.

As pressure mounted, and as the 700,000 signature self-employed support petition grew, the Conservative chancellor was dragged kicking and screaming to the address box. The completely out of his depth Rishi Sunak, trying to save face, once again threw handfuls of cash about.

However, no one who needs the cash immediately receives any up front help.

A few hundred thousand new self-employed people have been completely and utterly deserted by the Conservative Party, and the Government could not give a confirmed date when payments actually would be made.

It seemed to pluck the date of June out of thin air!

If this is a sign of the way this wide-boy government is going to be run then all of a sudden the draw of a sensible Lisa Nandy-led Labour Party will be ever so appealing.

It’s clear the Tories have to be more inclusive and caring to stay in power instead of showing the current complacency that their huge majority is giving them.

People may now be regretting their recent general election switch of vote!
