A REPORT shows that 28 per cent of domestic violence is committed by women, but alas that figure is probably an underestimate.

Men who are the victims are often too embarrassed by the stigma of being attacked by a woman to report it, or too scared of being scorned and not believed.

Whenever the subject is discussed, domestic violence caused by women is never mentioned, it being so politically incorrect to admit that women can be the offenders. The dangerous myth is then perpetrated that domestic violence is a gendered crime, committed solely by men, thus victims of this vile crime when committed by women can be regarded with scepticism, and ignored.

There really must be an overhaul of approaches to domestic violence, which currently is blatantly sexist by refusing to publicise or concede that women too are capable of the offence,
