I HOPE the recent "Hope Not Hate"
campaign supported by The Northern Echo will take Keith Jarrett, immediate past president of the National Black Police Association (NBPA), to task over his racially divisive comments that more ethnic minorities should be appointed to senior roles even if they are less qualified than their white counterparts.
This means suitably qualified indigenous people are overlooked, despite having a case, based upon on merit, to be considered for these work opportunities.
This is exactly the offensive type of remark that is swelling the BNP's numbers. Before the NBPA starts throwing stones it should ensure it is not standing in a greenhouse itself.
