ON Thursday at Broken Scar, Darlington, I met a group of walkers laughing and talking together, clearly having a good time.
They were also doing something good, something positive, picking up the mess left behind by the people who do the opposite.
Without the litter pickers, the river would be clogged with plastic rubbish and broken glass, and I won't even talk about the menace that is the single use barbecue.
So, a big thank you to everyone concerned, including the children who were there helping, and the Police Community Support Officer.
