IAN THOMPSON is wrong in his statement he could use ITV or Sky (HAS, Jun 18) – you still need a TV licence.

The fee does go to BBC but without it as it stands you can’t watch any TV.

Also, when you look at all the services the BBC gives, is it expensive?

They need to stop this plan on taking it away from over 75-year olds as it’s a lifeline to many who are on their own, but if younger people live at the same address I think they need to pay.
