I’M much amused by columnist Julia Breen’s claim to disapprove of the misogyny and homophobia allegedly exhibited by Boris Johnson and Tommy Robinson (Echo, June 13).
On the subject of misogyny, it’s entirely predictable that as a member of the political left, she keeps very quiet about the numerous videos online produced by the ironically named “religion of peace” instructing men on how to beat their wives.
If Ms Breen can actually cite any instances of Johnson or Robinson saying anything that disgusting, then I’m prepared to listen to her. If not, then Ms Breen’s claims are a joke far as I’m concerned.
As to homophobia, presumably Ms Breen is unaware that it’s not the Johnsons and Robinsons who are campaigning outside schools in Birmingham against lessons on homosexuality in those schools: again, it’s members of the religion of so-called peace.
All in all, I suggest Tommy Robinson has far better credentials when it comes to opposing totally uncivilised forms of behaviour like wife beating, female genital mutilation, killing authors and cartoonists etc than Ms Breen.
