REMAINER Phil Wilson, MP for Sedgefield, once again gives us his wisdom, advising that
Brexit supporters in the Conservative party “have got to realise that what they want might not
be what people want” (HAS, May 25).
Phil, may I suggest to you that the electorate may not want what you want, and there is a democratic vote already on their side.
The leave vote wanted a clean break from the EU and the sooner no deal is more readily talked about the more the EU might sit up and take notice.
They need our business and hopefully our new representatives will put a more forceful case. What I would suggest to the Sedgefield MP is to have a by-election in his constituency. Would he dare though?
Mike Taylor, Darlington
