JULIA BREEN has the cheek to say that those who voted to leave have been let down badly by people like Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage (Echo, Mar 14).

I'm sorry, Julia, but the people us leave supporters have been let down by are people like yourself and those MPs who are not prepared to fight the EU for a good deal or to leave with a no-deal.

In 2017, the UK had a trading surplus of £28bn with the EU on trade in services.

However this was outweighed by a deficit of £95bn in trade on goods. It makes me wonder if the lack of flexibility being shown by the EU is a case of the tail wagging the dog.

Some of our businesses are concerned about what a no-deal might mean for the UK, but in view of the above figures, I wonder how much more worried are the EU businesses.

Perhaps the BBC, another anti-Brexit organisation, should give more attention to this. In the same year the UK had a £41bn trade surplus with non EU countries.
