MANY people in the UK and especially up here in the North-East will be very disappointed that Japanese car company Nissan have done a U-turn by not making the X-Trail at its highly successful Sunderland Plant (Echo, Feb 4).
The real truth around the reverse decision is more to do with the diesel downturn than the Brexit indecision.
Having had several Nissan cars and visited the Sunderland plant one can only say they are top class brands built by a top class workforce. One now hopes MPs will sort out the EU question quickly and then we can all move forward, building great cars that people want to drive.
