I AGREE with the recent letter (HAS, Dec 15) saying that the EU referendum was badly flawed. My concerns are that voters were not asked about their choice of terms (if any) for leaving, and that no detailed analysis of the economic effects of the different forms of Brexit were available until after the vote.
I remain unconvinced that referenda are the right way to decide such complex issues, but since a referendum got us into our present mess, perhaps a “People’s Vote” is the best way to break the current deadlock.
However, given the information now available about the consequences of Brexit, Remain must again be an option.
