THE People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) has targeted the tiny Dorset village of Wool in regard of the name.
What Peta forgot to research is that Wool derives its name from the historic word “welle”, relating to the many water springs in the area.
Perhaps Peta should look at changing its own name as its own initials contain the word “pet” which is the subjugation and enslavement of animals for human pleasure.
If Peta really wanted to stand up for animal rights, then it should be campaigning against the cruel and barbaric practice that is ritual slaughter.
