READING that trains for the London Underground are to be built in Germany (Echo, Jul 28), now I hear ships for the Royal Navy are to be built in Japan.
Whatever people think of Donald Trump he is keeping his promise of America first, and the economy is proof of that.
We have first class facilities to build trains in the North-East, why aren’t these weak-kneed politicians putting forward the case more strongly?
Likewise we can build ships in this country and anything else we put our minds to.
On Brexit there doesn’t seem to be anyone who can stand up for the country and tell those in the EU to get lost. We are leaving and get on with it and quickly.
