I SEE a Darlington resident has written saying that milk is stood on the door step from 12.30am at night in her street (HAS, June 11).

To me, that is far too early, especially (as previously stated), on warm summer nights, meaning the same milk, would in all probability, turn sour.

My wife and I have our milk delivered between 5am and 6am on a morning, irrespective of the time of year – it is lovely.

Also, I stand to be corrected about the buying of semi-skimmed milk from the supermarket, which seems to be the norm of modern day life, because my wife and I do purchase a carton of whole milk when needed, from our well-stocked, local Richmond Co-op and the same milk tastes fresh and is ice-cold as well.

All the same, early morning milk deliveries, for us, still takes some beating.
