FURTHER to the letter about Nunnery Lane, (HAS, May 9), the bombing incident did take place in Nunnery Lane during World War Two.
From memory there were two craters about twenty feet across, they were in a field at the bottom of the hill on the north side of the lane, a hedge separated them from a wood. It is possible that the house that was bombed at Blackwell may have been damaged during the same raid.
