BURGLARY is in the news at the moment and in my book it is one of the most heinous of crimes. Stealing from someone’s house is the lowest of the low and I think the householder should be allowed to defend themselves and their property in any way at all.
I well remember one of my policeman rugby mates telling me about a particular burglar who broke into the house of newly-weds when they were away on honeymoon and stole all their wedding presents but not satisfied with this crime he then defecated in their marital bed.
The couple called the police about the burglary and their stolen wedding gifts and then went to bed only to find the burglar’s disgusting handiwork!
Burglars should be totally ostracised by the community they live in.
We had a couple of career burglars in our area and one guy said they were canny lads really as they did not burgle their mates. I rest my case. Our prisons are sadly too full now but prison is the only answer.
