A PROPOSAL to hold a community poll in December is to be discussed by Doncaster council on Friday.
The poll would ask every voter in the borough to vote on which devolution arrangement they prefer. The choice is for Doncaster to become part of the Sheffield City Region or to join an all-Yorkshire agreement.
This is democracy working well for this part of Yorkshire.
The vast majority of businesspeople in Yorkshire favour an all-Yorkshire solution to help bridge the north/south divide.
More and more Yorkshire councils are supporting an all-Yorkshire deal.
Let the people of Yorkshire decide. Westminster has repeatedly let us down with half-baked measures. This time we need to get it right. The people of Yorkshire deserve better.
