I WRITE in support of the Barmpton and Skerningham Action Group. I attended one of the consultations held by Theakston Estates which was well attended by local residents.
From listening to their comments and questions it was obvious that most, like me, are opposed to losing this beautiful area of countryside, stretching right up to the historic pack horse bridge.
At a time when we are all being encouraged to walk more it would be a tragedy to lose so many easily accessible footpaths, which have been used in the past for several sponsored walks by national charities.
We need more housing but not at the expense of this land with its woodlands, wildlife and regenerated Skerne.
