AL QAIDA has condemned the knighthood given to author Salman Rushdie. Such anger is perfectly understandable. After all, for years al Qaida and the Taliban have worked hard debasing, degrading, insulting Mohammed and his teachings, turning his teachings and wisdom into words of hate, making the faithful into murderers - and not even a whiff of an invite to a Royal Garden party, let alone a knighthood.
