ON the occasion of his first Prime Minister's Questions, I hope that HAS readers enjoyed the spectacle of Gordon Brown wriggling and squirming at the Despatch Box as much as I did.
Reduced to a fumbling, stumbling, stuttering wreck and pleading for time (after ten years), he made David Cameron's performance - which was fairly ordinary even by his standards - look absolutely brilliant. Even the corpse-like leader of the LibDems scored a direct hit. Great clunking fist? I don't think so.
Goodness only knows what will happen when our very own debating genius, William Hague, rips into him. I can't wait.
David Lacey, Durham.
