YOUR unnamed correspondent (HAS, July 5) accuses me of opposing cultural diversity. Had they read my letter (HAS, June 30) properly, they would have noticed I favoured people pursuing any cultural pursuit they like through many of the outlets available.

The writer wrongly claimed it was I who said that multiculturalism had failed when, in fact, it was this Labour Government that admitted multiculturalism has failed.

The correspondent highlights the fact that I stood as a British National Party candidate and then goes on to try to link me with Nazi Germany by stating some very interesting historical facts, but neglecting to mention that Hitler also received massive support from an all-Muslim unit of the SS which was instrumental in forming the pro-Nazi Muslim Hanschar brigades in Yugoslavia and that National Socialism had a profound impact on the political philosophies of many radical Islamic political organisations, particularly the Muslim Brotherhood which is active in multicultural Britain today.
