WHY close down A&E departments when they are already overcrowded? Is it not more sensible to create more?
Bed blocking is a problem caused by the closure of places like the old Aycliffe hospital where patients could come and be well looked after.
The system needs to be addressed.
We need the A&E in Darlington and one in Bishop Auckland, but we also need the aftercare that could be provided by opening more care homes to look after our elderly.
It all makes sense to me, so what am I missing?
