I HAVE already argued in HAS that the whole "carbon" theory is based on dodgy science and that no independent scientist would seriously claim the human race has anything to do with climate change.

We may be heading for an energy crisis in the future when our old power supplies run out and it does make sense to limit our use of power in order to save money, recycle our waste and protect our land from pollution.

Happily, some of our needs for transport may be met with hydrogen. A motorbike running on water has already been demonstrated.

However, reading about the new EU requirement for house vendors to arrange energy saving reports, it occurred to me how inconsistent is our whole idea of energy saving.

Never has it been suggested that we restrict our shopping. When we buy anything, a carrot, a CD, "energy" of some kind has been expended to create it and produce it for sale. This is inevitable unless we all return to living in medieval conditions.

Meanwhile, professional energy assessors are to increase the army of government dependents whose pay packets we must provide.
