AS someone who suffers from hearing loss and has to wear two hearing aids, the news that the NHS in other parts of the country are denying people with various degrees of hearing loss free hearing aids which they need is appalling.
Hearing aids improve the lives of people who suffer hearing loss which would otherwise make their lives very difficult and result in isolation. Being able to hear properly is a basic human right.
People who need hearing aids either pay or have paid for the their aids and the audiology service through their national insurance contributions. They must not be treated in this way.
Can I please ask your readers to sign up to the Action for Hearing Loss campaign to stop the cuts to NHS hearing aid services.
