I AM writing to express my shock and disgust at the article by the Rev Peter Mullen (Echo, Mar 14). How someone who is a minister in the Christian church can think that it is morally acceptable to squander money on weapons that would bring absolutely horrendous death and destruction to millions and make much of the world uninhabitable simply beggars belief? Didn't he read the lines "Blessed are the peacemakers" or "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you"?
