I WONDER if anyone else has had the latest scam phone call regarding computer faults.
A lot of people have had calls from someone saying that they are from Microsoft, and they can mend a “fault” on their machines. In other words, steal from them.
I have had one of these calls in recent weeks.
This morning I had a phone call from someone saying that he was from the IT department of BT, and that I had a fault on my computer that was causing problems with other people’s machines.
He went on to say that he could solve the problem if I was in front of my computer, he also said that this involved Talk Talk.
He must think that I arrived last night with Hurricane Gonzalo. I told him that I was not a customer of either BT or Talk Talk and hung up. I hope that no one is taken in by a similar call. It is a bit of a worry though that he knew my name and phone number.
